Introduction

VoIPtel Europe Ltd. is a company registered in the UK and Norway who are best known for their work on the GUI for IPxx series PBX. Their first release of their VoIPtel GUI was introduced to the world on Cebit in march 2008 and was received with a lot of interest, this firmware has since become the standard on most IPxx shipped to our international customers while the VoIPtel GUI was based on David Rowe excellent baps system.

VoIPtel made the difficult decision of temporarily putting further development for this platform on hold, instead they have been preparing a new firmware based on the astfin2 structure. This came as a consequence of a growing number of corporate customers requesting service contract and remote support, for this type of user the new structure are found to be easier to streamline and support. On December 2 2008, VoIPtel CE was released through their website. This firmware is freely available to everybody who would like to install it on the Atcom manufactured IPxx and is supported by a growing number of members at the VoIPtel Forum.

VoIPtel SE was made available 10 days later on December 12, also this version is available to every user of Atcom manufactured IPxx who need a PBX that is extensively supported by a team of dedicated asterisk professionals.
